Hello Friday and Happy Chirstmas to you!
I hope you had a lovely Chirstmas day, I definetly did, it was great to celebrate Jesus' birth with my family. I particuarly enjoyed sharing this news with my two year old who is a sponge and taking everything in at the moment!

Anyway, so my family know what I love doing and I got some great presents! I thought I would share them with you.
Watch out for some future projects that I will make using them!

I got this Martha Stewart Project Calender. Full of stickers, project cards and how tos. How exciting!

Quite a few things here; 2 sets of scrapbooking paper/ card, button stickers, foam stickers, pritt stick glue, purple pink and a rotary cutter - I can't wait to use this!

'Martha Stewart Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts' wowzers, how cool?! So many ideas and some great sewing tips and info.

This is was an exciting present, the Scrapboos from Fiskars.
I haven't done embossing before so exciting to do some new projects with it and to experiment and see what I can do.

So saying all of that, I have alot to do! My list is mega.
At the beginning of this year I did a projection of all the crafty and sewing projects that I was hoping to do, see here I have managed to do most of them, phew! Plus alot more.
I will be doing the same again this year, so watch this space, especially using some of my new equipment.

So what did you get for Christmas? Any nice crafty things?

Around here Christmas part 2!

Here are a few last minute things that we have been up to, I thought you might like to see!
We hade some cinammon decorations with some friends. Here is my daughter painting them.
Ginger bread making, for friends and neighbours, even the postman got some this morning!

Decorations finished and ready for the tree.
A cute christmas card sitting on the window.
Presents!
Not long now, super excited!

Hanmade paper baubles

Have you finished decorating yet?! If not all is well these are quick to make and effective for any window, mantle piece or to hang.

Cut stripes of paper or card, equal size. For each bauble you will need 8-12 stripes.
Punch a hole in both ends.
Stack them on top of each other.
Add a paper fastner to them all, don't close it tightly, you can tighten it later when its in place.
Bend it slightly, this will help with bring the stripes around.
Add some thread to one fastener. Make it into a circle...
then slowly start to bring each stripe out. Put them equal spacing and then tighten your fastener.
And then choose where you want to hang them.
I made three to hang together for one window.
Try an old christmas card. I particuarly like this one.
Have fun

Hanmade felt heart

Super cute and so simple to make.
Gather your felt, thread, needle and some stuffing and get going!

Cut out 2 heart shapes, I drew around a heart cookie cutter.
Write very lightly onto your heart the word you want.
Stitch over the letters in back stitch. I love doing this!
 Blanket stitch around the edges.
Insert a ribbon at the top and continue sewing around the edge.
When you have alomst completed stitching around the edge add your stuffing and then carry on sewing the edges.
And thats it! Done, how simple?!
Why not put them on the tree or make a few and hang on a string to hang around your house.

Hanmade potato printing

This is a great little craft to do with the kids.
I used some cookie cutters to make the stamp, this really helps to get a good shape.

Here are a few pics.
Push the cutter into a cut potato.
Cut the potato flesh with a knife.

Then run the knife around the side meeting the cutter.

 tada!
Make the edges really good using cutters.

 Hello glitter!
I think I might have been abit more into this than my 2 year old!
But between us we made some great gift tags!

Hanmade Noel paper bunting

This is quite effective decoration for Chirstmas or any other occassion.

Choose some christmasy card or paper and print the letters onto them.
 Cut out the triangles.
I used a 2 hole punch to give me balanced holes within the triangle.

Thread some ribbon or wool through the holes. Secure them on the back with cellotape.
I hung my bunting on my dresser.
I think they look great!
 What do you think?!

Hanmade lavender pouches

These are so cute! And super easy to make!

So lets not waste any time!
All you need is some small bits of fabric, some lavender - I had my from our garden
dried all ready to use, and thread.

Do you remember I made a fabric basket not long ago? Go here. Do you remember there were some squares left over? I said there was a perfect project that we could use the squares, well this is it!

Grab your fabric squares. Front and back.
Here is my dried lavender smelling sweet and ready to go!
Put the squares good sides together.
Sew almost all the way round, leaving a small gap in one side. Trim the corners.
 Turn the right way round.
 Put the lavender inside.

 Sew the gap closed.
Trim the thread and tada! Simple!
Why don't you make some more!?
Add some ribbon or wool with a label.
This is a gift for someone special and I think she will love these Hanmade lavender pouches.
