Hanmade cereal box organiser

I enjoyed making this project. It was easy and so useful once it was done.
I had been waiting to think of a project to use this wallpaper and I am really pleased with
 how it came out.
Check out katydidandkid for the tutorial here. Follow the steps to make your own organiser.

Hanmade bean bags

This was a cute little project that I made for a gift for a friends son and he totally loves it! I am so pleased. Its not too hard to make and you can personalise them too which is extra special.

Cut out rectangles that you will fold in half, sew on a letter,
sew around the edges right sides together.
Make a bag slighly smaller and insert kidney beans.
Turn the outside pocket round the right way, insert your bean bag.
Sew the open edge together.
Simple!

I wanted to make a small bag to hold them in, so I made one with a simple lining and two handles, just right for little hands!
What a perfect gift!

Happy Year! And craft aims 2013

Hello and happy new year! I hope you have had a lovely Christmas and new year! I did!

So I had abit off time off from sewing over Christmas, but my head has been doing lots of planning and thinking about future projects that I would like to make this year.
I made a crafty list this time last year and actually found it helpful. Plus it's a great way to log what I would like to do. ECk exciting!

So here it is;
A denim skirt from a pair of jeans
Cushion for the couch ( I already have the perfect fabric!)
Fabric basket for my mother in law, as requested by her
A small quilted blanket
Quilted place mats
Curtains for our trailer tent

Phew, I think the list is long enough!
Some of these things will take more time than others.
I have wanted to start quilting but have felt abut nervous about it, but think this will be the year that I make some progress!
I will also be making other bits and bobs along the way.

What projects have you got planned?

Next time... I will be showing you some inspiring ideas, see you then!

Crafty Christmas!

Hello Friday and Happy Chirstmas to you!
I hope you had a lovely Chirstmas day, I definetly did, it was great to celebrate Jesus' birth with my family. I particuarly enjoyed sharing this news with my two year old who is a sponge and taking everything in at the moment!

Anyway, so my family know what I love doing and I got some great presents! I thought I would share them with you.
Watch out for some future projects that I will make using them!

I got this Martha Stewart Project Calender. Full of stickers, project cards and how tos. How exciting!

Quite a few things here; 2 sets of scrapbooking paper/ card, button stickers, foam stickers, pritt stick glue, purple pink and a rotary cutter - I can't wait to use this!

'Martha Stewart Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts' wowzers, how cool?! So many ideas and some great sewing tips and info.

This is was an exciting present, the Scrapboos from Fiskars.
I haven't done embossing before so exciting to do some new projects with it and to experiment and see what I can do.

So saying all of that, I have alot to do! My list is mega.
At the beginning of this year I did a projection of all the crafty and sewing projects that I was hoping to do, see here I have managed to do most of them, phew! Plus alot more.
I will be doing the same again this year, so watch this space, especially using some of my new equipment.

So what did you get for Christmas? Any nice crafty things?
