Hanmade baby gift

As you know I make lots of baby gifts. My cousin had a baby girl and I decided to make her a few small gifts.

I have made these baby bibs before, go here for the tutorial and the giraffe, go here. They are totally cute.

I also made this cute taggy blanket, go here for the tutorial.

 

 I decided to make the bib slighter shorter in length and I really like it.

 

 

Hope you feel inspired to make some baby gifts.

Hanmade fabric pairs game

This is a seriously simple small project to make and great for all those small scraps.

So choose some nice fabrics, iron them and make a template for your squares.

 

 Cut out 2 squares per fabric. I did mine 7.5cm x 7.5cm

 Find a fabric for the back that you will use for all the backs of the squares.

 Cut out the backs too.

 Sandwich the back fabric and the pattern fabric together best sides together. Sew around the edge leaving a gap to turn it round the right way. Trim the corners.

 Turn the right way round and iron.

 Stictch around the edge, paying particualar attention to the gap.

 And thats it! Simple! Give to your little one to play with.

 Why not... add numbers or words to each sqaure?

 

 How to play pairs:

Turn all the sqaures round the wrong way, making sure they are all mixed up.

 Take it in turns to turn over 2 sqaures, if they match you get to go again. If not its the other persons turn. Keep going until you have the winner, with the most pairs.

 

 What not make a small bag or fabric envelope to keep them in.

 

 

 

Hanmade fleece stitching

My mother in law, bought this fleece fabric for my daughter, but it the edges needed hemming, so I got to it. I mitered the corners and hemmed the edges.

Isn't the fleece cute? I like that its bright coloured.

 

 

 

 

Perfect for what we do best, snuggling on the sofa together!

Hanmade baby sleeping bag

I made this cute sleeping bag for my daughters toy baby. She has got back into playing with her toy babies so I thought I would make her this to play with.

Don't you love getting something free? I do especially when its a Cath Kidston craft book. Well I did have to buy a newspaper, but I was pleased with the 'freebie'!

So I thought you might enjoy seeing what sewing projects are included, so here you go

Hanmade needlebook

Here is a small project that I made to replace one that I made when I was a little girl...

 

Aww! A simple stitched needle book with appliqued decoration.

Now I am going to make a quilted back and hand embroidered front needle book.

Check out how I made it below

 

Make some small squares out of your fabric

 Start to sew them together in rows

 Then sew the rows together

 Make a square that is the same size as your patched square and also a length for the middle part

 Stitch them together

 Then start to decorate the front of your needle book. I added an appliqued heart and embroidered writing

 

 Get some wadding and pin behind your fabric

 Then I quilted the patchwork

 Cut the wadding around the fabric. Then good sides toegther pin in place.

 Add a small ribbon loop for your button hole on the inside.

 Sew around the edges leaving a small gap to turn the right way round. Trim your corners off at angles. Turn it the right way round. Sew the gap closed. Add a button to the front side.

Tada!
